Projects
Stories from recent jobs: what we found, what we did, and how it turned out.

Stonework
Rebuilding a Buried Stone Well
We pumped out and cleared a flooded well with no head, then rebuilt it in curved rubble stone with a ring of radial coping stones, using full-size templates and rope access.

Landscaping
Split-Level Garden & Tiled Steps
We took over a garden that another contractor had started and could not finish, stripped everything back and started fresh, then built it out on two levels: wide tiled steps between raised planters, clad retaining walls, a lit water feature, a fire pit and lighting in the steps and walls.

Restoration
Paint Removal & Lime Repointing
We steam-stripped failing layers of paint from a sandstone house, then repointed the bare stonework in NHL 3.5 natural hydraulic lime.

Stonework
Hand-Cut Stone Lettering
We cut a house name and number into the stone of an existing gate pier, set out with a paper stencil, with a quatrefoil in each corner of the panel.

Brickwork
Facing Brick Extension
Textured red facing brick to a gabled extension, with brick piers either side of full-height glazing.

Stonework
Curved Sandstone Retaining Wall
A curved garden retaining wall shown at two points in the job: first as a bare blockwork core, then faced in random rubble sandstone.

Stonework
Sandstone Openings
Five openings in one stone building, reworked in new and reclaimed sandstone. Two doors and three windows became four doors and one window.

Structural
Structural Openings & Steelwork
A wide opening formed in a rendered wall on needles and props, with a steel beam over it and a block and brick extension shell built against it.

Restoration
Stone Fireplace Restoration
An old fireplace opening in a bare rubble wall, rebuilt with a new dressed sandstone surround, and the whole wall taken back to the stone and pointed.
